This is awesome! I definitely want to give these a try (seeing as how GS cookies are not sold here); now I just need to find the time to make them. Have you tried them yet? Do the recipes turn out well?

I haven't tried them, I'm just curious. Let me know.
I'm tempted to make the samoas..

Tried the samoas- they were pretty good. The caramel part was difficult to spread, so I ended up not even caring abt the hold I had punched out in the dough. I just covered it with the caramel.

I think the blog that the recipe came from has Samoa bars -which would be a lot faster to make than the cookies.

The cookie part could've been softer. Don't bake til golden like she suggests. I'd take out before that and let them cool on the rack.

All in all, I'd prefer to go buy the real thing.

Mmmmm... yummy. I thought the Samoas were really good. I didn't like the chocolate I used though--just Nestle chocolate chips. I'd recommend getting a better tasting and higher quality chocolate. For a time-saver tip, I'd suggest toasting the coconut first, then you can make the cookie dough and cut out the cookies while it bakes. I ended up waiting around for the coconut to toast so I could finish the cookies!

As for the Thin Mints... I can't find peppermint flavoring here, so I just used the regular mint. I thought the cookies were really good, with a great texture, but I didn't think they were minty enough, especially after dipping them in chocolate (which, again, I would have used a better chocolate). I'm not sure if that is the difference between the flavorings, or if it is just the recipe.

Totally worth making for me, but I don't have the option of just buying. If I did, I probably would just buy, but I did think they were really fun to make.
